I make a list of around 10 goals at the beginning of every new year. I put it on my bulletin board or wall and try to look at it every day.
I’ve been doing this for at least four years now. The craziest part is that I usually end up accomplishing most of the goals on the list by the end of the year. (Manifesting works!)
Also crazy: I ended up accomplishing the 2015 goals I didn’t achieve that year in 2016. I hope the same things happens this year with my 2016 goals that I didn’t accomplish. (But I did come really close!!)
A lot of the goals on my official top 10 list are professional, but some are just fun! Here are five of my 2017 goals…
1. Decorate my room and apartment
I am terrible with decorating. Honestly, I like clean walls, because I feel like they make a space look more open!
However, I’ve lived in my current apartment for over two years now and I still haven’t really decorated it. I want to make my apartment look more like a home and representative of my personality this year. When your living space looks good, you feel good!
2. Take at least one trip per month
Instead of just resolving to “travel more,” I’m setting a goal to take 12 trips this year. I already have a trip planned in January to St. Louis for a wedding.
Even if it’s just a short road trip, I want to take at least one trip per month this year, preferably to a city I’ve never visited!
3. Go to a music festival
I have been to more concerts than I can count. My first concert was Neil Diamond when I was four years old with my mom, Grandma and Great Aunt. (We went for my Grandma’s birthday. LOL!) I love going to concerts.
However, I’ve never been to a real music festival. (Warped Tour doesn’t count…) I definitely want to go to one this year!
4. Stop being late, start being early
I’m chronically late for pretty much everything in my life. I’ve gotten a little bit better at being on time for some things within the past year, but worse for others. My number one goal for 2017 is to stop being late.
5. Grow TheProfessionalFangirl.com
I’ve always known my “brand” is teen entertainment news, but I didn’t have a catchy name for my personal brand that I felt really suited me until now. Previously, I created a blog and webseries called “Under 20 and Trending,” but I didn’t really feel passionate about that name anymore.
“The Professional Fangirl” seems like a natural fit. I do a lot of different things in entertainment: I’m a host. I’m a writer. I’m a social media producer. However, everything I do can really be summed up with one title: professional fangirl. I love giving fans the inside info they want to know!
I plan on writing lots of blog posts, creating videos and doing more fun things here in 2017! I can’t wait to go on this journey and fangirl with you.
